What’s New For 2024?
Many changes are coming to the new Sierra 2500HD. Along with light visual changes like a revised front fascia with available LED headlights and taillights, there's also a revised powertrain and a new trim.
The Denali Ultimate is the newest trim, and it's a more luxurious model than the Denali, offering leather-wrapped door panels and steering wheel. There are even 16-way power-adjustable front heated and cooled messaging front seats.
Performance
Powering the GMC 2500HD is a 401 horsepower 6.6-liter V-8. This model now has a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard and is equipped with rear- or four-wheel drive. As for the optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8, this engine produces 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque and utilizes an Allison-certified 10-speed automatic.
The increased power means greater towing capacity across the Sierra 2500HD lineup. Now, this pickup can tow a max of 22,500 pounds at the hitch.
Technology
A wealth of new technology can be found in the revised Sierra 2500HD. New to the model is adaptive cruise control with trailering, gross combination weight (GCW) alert, and GM's Transparent Trailer View, which is compatible with the gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailering.
Additionally, every Sierra 2500HD model also comes standard with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most trim levels utilize an eight-inch screen, but a larger 13.4-inch display is available with built-in navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and split-screen navigation.
Safety
To ensure you stay safe as you travel, GMC has outfitted every Sierra 2500 HD with various driver-assist technology. Though most features are offered on higher trims. The base model's standard features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Other trims offer a comprehensive camera system with up to 15 different viewing modes, including a "transparent" mode, which allows drivers to virtually see through an attached trailer as if it wasn't there.
