Performance
There are two engine choices available for the New GMC Sierra 3500 Heavy Duty. The standard setup is a 6.6-liter gas V8, and a Duramax (diesel) V8 is available as an upgrade for heavy-duty work around St. Paul, MN, that requires the highest torque available.
To help keep the powertrain cool, the GMC Sierra 3500 Heavy features a dual-path intake system. Plus, an integrated after-run cooling function allows the engine to cool down at idle.
