Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the bookkeeping knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Essential Duties
- Record-keeping using documents like invoices, receipts, sales slips, check stubs to record business transactions in ledgers or computer files
- Learn dealer CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
- Learn General Motors accounting system
- Reconciling accounts: Ensuring accounts are balanced and reconciled
- Reporting: Creating reports that show cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profit and loss
- Payroll: Calculating employee wages and preparing payroll checks
- Tax preparation: Preparing tax reports for withholding, Social Security, and other taxes
- Customer statements: Preparing and mailing monthly statements to customers
- Answer phones
- Maintains professional appearance and neat work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
